I think, everyone who is interested in a system of Samsung, know about this picture:
Those who do not know what it is, briefly: There is a “leak”, illustrating the Samsung plans to release new lenses right up to the 2013th year. When it first appeared on the Internet, this information seemed to be a fantasy. But for over a year, the company has adhered to the plan with very high accuracy.
So, the first change of plan.
Quote from source:
This is the Samsung NX lens roadmap for 2012. Five new lenses are listed, two for the first half and three for the second half of 2012:
- 55mm f/1.8 iFn pancake
- 12-24mm f/4 ED iFn VCM (Voice Coil Motor)
- 80-400mm f/4-5.6 OIS SSA iFn
- 135mm f/2 OIS SSA iFn
- 24mm f/1.8 ED SSA iFn
The 2012 roadmap will be officially announced in January, 2012 (probably at CES).

Now look at the changes.
We were waiting for:
- 12-24/4 – omnia
- 35/1.4 – premium
- 50/1.4 – premium
- 135/2 – omnia
- 75-300/4-5.6 – optima
And that’s what changed:
12-24/4 omnia – remains unchanged. Wide-angle lens. I suppose that this lens will long remain the widest of the normal lens in NX system.
35/1.4 premium – replaced 24/1.8 premium. Something midway between the existing 20mm and 30mm pancakes, and probably for perfectionists. I do not think it will be cheap. I hope the result will match the price.
50/1.4 premium – replaced 55/1.8 pancake! Fourth pancake in the system! On very good portrait focal length (83mm FF equal). I need it right now!
135/2 omnia – no changes. Necessary lens.
75-300/4-5.6 optima – replaced 80-400/4-5.6 – optima. I think, the lens closes the needs of photographers-naturalists at 100%.
Very positive news!
